Apply offset to TC output

Post by Ozz » Fri Nov 28, 2025 8:10 pm

Would it be possible to implement an offset option to re-generated time code? Ideally this could be set for each specific output format, so other output formats aren't impacted.

My specific application is recording of reference videos. I'll overlay the current time code onto the video, but often times there is a non-trival delay in the video signal vs the local timecode. A common scenario for me is LTC and audio track delivered to my station, Code Clock splits the LTC to local devices, and then USB MIDI TC into my laptop where I'll use VOR or OBS to to overlay the timecode. The video comes in via NDI, and depending on network architecture there can be quite a delay. Last project I measured 12 frames!

If I could apply an offset to the outgoing USB MTC, I could correct this and have accurately stamped reference videos to work with.

Helloo

This seems like a good idea for this type of application

We will discuss this and I'll report back if it's something we can develop for the LTC product line

Thanks
