POE test fails with 802.3af

Post by Lou_Rendo » Wed Jun 23, 2021 5:50 am

Hi, I'm on 1.17r and I can't seem to get the poe tester to work on known good working 802.3af ports. Specifically Netgear gs308p switches and jgs513p+

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

1. Can you please send the test result details of the 802.3af test?
(after running the test, press [Details] in the 802.3af row)

2. Also do the A and B pair voltages show anything >0V during the test?

3. And if you have other switches available, does 802.3af or 802.3at finish successfully on any other PoE source/switch?

Hi, the 802.3af and 802.3at passes when usining a luminex gigacore switch, details indicate A:power recieved, B:error in detection stage, no classification voltage. i have tested with 3 different IQ testers, same results on all 3.

after repeatedly running the test i have noticed that it will occasionally pass on the jgs512pe only.
when the test runs it shows 0.02v on a and b for about 9 seconds, then will flash erratic voltage on A but i will sometimes see 48 v flash in the second or so before the test fails.

here are the test results.

I was able to catch 48v flash on the screen just before it failed
